Maintenance Mechanical Technician, 2nd Shift

Location: Jessup, MD

Basic Purpose

The Maintenance Mechanical Technician installs and maintains facility equipment and machinery in order to maintain required production levels under minimal supervision. NOTE: This is a second shift position (2 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.).

Responsibilities

  • Programs Variable Frequency Drives or Servo motor drives.
  • Follows all Company safety rules and regulations including LOTO and wears all required PPE.
  • Troubleshoots PLC programs and robotics.
  • Reads and understands maintenance work orders.
  • Accurately performs daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly preventative maintenance on plant equipment and machinery as required per established PM programs and completes required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Mentors and/or trains existing and/or new maintenance employees.
  • Relieves other employees in instances of breaks, absenteeism, vacation, or other production requirements.
  • Maintains good housekeeping and follows established safety protocols.
  • Able to work in a team environment to include relieving other employees in instances of breaks, absenteeism, vacation or other production requirements.
  • Performs any other duties as assigned or directed by Team Leader / Supervisor.

  • Maintains awareness of individual contribution to and impact of the quality, safety, environmental, and product compliance policies and activities; reports all quality issues, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions to the proper personnel.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Certification or equivalent experience in electrical or mechanical field.
  • 4 years’ prior maintenance experience required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk, bend, stoop or crouch for at least an 8-hour shift.
  • Must be able to use hands and fingers to handle or feel machinery, equipment, or parts and work near moving mechanical parts.
  • Ability to accurately use, read, and understand various precision instruments including, but not limited to: meters, meggers, and oscilloscopes.
  • Knowledge of current OSHA, NEC, and ANSI standards.
  • Working knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives.
  • Must be computer literate, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Products.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced working environment with accuracy and integrity.
  • Able to work in a team environment and interface with a diverse workforce.
