About the Role:

The Sustainability Analyst will assess environmental footprints, including energy usage and emissions, and develop strategies for conservation, renewable resource use, efficiency improvement, and cost reduction. They will interpret external sustainability changes, analyze their impact on Tate’s products and customers, and stay updated on building regulations and policies. This role involves conducting carbon assessments, educating divisional teams, and proposing initiatives such as facility design changes and energy programs. Agility, adaptability, and effective communication across business functions are essential.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and evaluate strategies to support conservation, increase usage of renewable resources, improve efficiency, and reduce energy costs or wasteful output.
  • Undertaking carbon assessments for our key product range using life cycle assessments
  • Work closely with the sustainability team across the division to understand our product range and identify opportunities to improve environmental performance.
  • Understand policy documents, ESG targets, Planet Passionate targets, Life Cycle Assessments, EPD’s, and to then distil and translate what’s important and relevant to your various stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain existing certifications that align with and enhance the business’s sustainability credentials. This includes certifications such as Cradle-2-Cradle, product VOC testing, Health Product
  • Develop declarations and Material Passports.
  • Assisting in developing and introducing Lower Embodied Carbon options to the market, providing validated evidence on the benefits of the products.
  • Maintain a contemporary understanding of emerging trends within the built environment; policy changes, new legislation or guidance, customer expectations, and inform wider teams of these trends where relevant.
  • Assess the environmental footprint, including energy usage and gas, water, or other waste emissions.
  • Propose changes to facility design or construction, replacement of appliances or systems, and development of load control or response programs.
  • Suggest initiatives such as peak pricing or energy buyback programs.

Additional Expectation

  • Remain compliant with the Code of Conduct and Policies which includes the Kingspan Group Compliance Policy.
  • Ensure that all duties related to product compliance are adhered to in accordance with the Product Compliance Policy, Laws, Regulations, and market demands.
  • Responsible for all tasks to achieve compliance goals and demands of the Compliance Management System.
  • Must raise concerns related to the Compliance Management System to their supervisor, manager, or any member of the Leadership Team, or through the confidential whistle blower service.

What You’ll Bring:

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business Sustainability, or a related field
  • A minimum of two to five years’ experience in Sustainability, Environmental Science or a related field
  • Experience in completing Life Cycle Assessments and Environmental Product Declarations is desirable but training will be provided.
  • Solid and stable experience in an environmental or sustainability role within the building/construction sector with a clear understanding of sustainability within the built environment and the importance of decarbonization of this sector
  • Understanding requirements and how various factors impact GWP within product manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with environmental certifications relevant to manufacturing.
  • Technical product knowledge with an understanding of the operational process involved in manufacturing and delivering products.
  • Willingness to travel to the UK, EMEA, US and APAC regions on occasion with flexibility to relocate if required.
